It feels so good to finally blog again after two weeks “off.” I will do my best to keep it up now that I almost have things under control at Felt. Since starting as the new Marketing Director / House Pro at the beginning of the month, I have been sort of the acting GM. Between running a 12,000 square foot pool room, while starting a new league with 23+ teams, kicking off the weekly tournaments and planning some bigger ones, covering a few bar tending shifts (having only poured my first drink ever last week) and trying to juggle my other five+ businesses, I’d say I’ve had my hands full lately.
I’m not complaining though. The hardest part of my jobs is that I enjoy them ALL and that makes it much tougher to manage my time because I want to do EVERYTHING!
Some very valuable skills that I’ve been reminded of this week:
- Breathing
- Patience
- Delegating
- Learning to say “no” (or at least “not now”)
- Being so approachable is not always such a great thing
