I was recently introduced to the reverse 9 ball rack.
Has anyone seen or heard of this???
Now, this guy really had it down to a science. I tried it a couple times and just kept dropping the whole rack on the balls. I guess you really have to practice this thing before taking it on the road. This is one that you really should try at home, kids.
Anyway, I guess the theory behind it is that:
- it’s easier to see the spot and identify where the 1 ball wants to sit
- you can keep those back balls tighter avoiding any wired 9 ball breaks
- it’s “easier” (depending on how coordinated you are) to remove the rack from the balls
Maybe this is how 9 ball was intended to be racked??? Who am I to assume that he was racking them backwards? Good thing I have the perfect rack so I don’t have to learn this new trick.
Anyway, try it out folks. I want to your feedback on this interesting technique.
